ANDREW KLOTZ
Andrew Klotz was born and raised east of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, deep in the Appalachian Mountains. He graduated with a bachelors in business in 2012, and has since marauded the Western United States in search of adventure. He set anchor in Taos, New Mexico three years ago where he now makes his 'home base'. The natural beauty of Northern New Mexico inspires his artwork. He uses simple forms, minimal glazing, and atmospheric firings to draw out the natural aesthetics of porcelain and stoneware. Andrew frequently adds local raw materials, like gypsum and ant-hill sand, to remind us that what we enjoy in our ‘modern’ civilization is on loan from Mother Nature. Picking up one of Andrew’s ant sand mugs first thing in the morning should remind everyone that we must be good to our Mothers.
